Fun House on Clifton Hill

Fun House on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls

Today at lunch Chris and I went through the Fun House on Clifton Hill. I can’t believe there are companies that charge people for such garbage. It took us about 5-10 minutes to walk through the place. Everything looked kind of grungy and many moving parts squeaked. I was severely underimpressed.
Admission is $7.99 for adults or $6.99 for children.

Has anyone been through the haunted houses? Which are the best, and which are the worst? Can anyone describe the inside of Haunted House, Castle Dracula, House of Frankenstein, Nightmares, etc.? Are they worth the money, or a rip-off? Is Niagara Falls in general worth traveling 400 miles to? They seem to have the most haunted attractions in one area, even beating out Lake George, NY (I was there last year, they have 3 haunted houses). And it’s rare to find haunted houses open outside of October/Halloween. I’m mad Horror Manor and Alien Encounter are gone this year becaus e I went through the smaller Alien Encounter in Lake George last year, but never made it to Niagara Falls to experience the bigger one. The Niagara version looked darker and scarier than the Lake George one on the outside. BTW, Lake George also has a House of Frankenstein. And Wildwood, NJ had a Castle Dracula but it burned in 2002, it was built in 1976. I was in it several times. Good to see Niagara Falls has a Castle Dracula. And Horror Manor looked so neat from the photos I’ve seen on the web. Now it looks like it’s going to be another overpriced restaurant. (Doesn’t the Falls have enough restaurants?) I’m from eastern Pennsylvania.

My fave haunted house is Nightmares. Definately worth the money. Don’t forget to look for a coupon before you go in. It’s only $1 off but money is money. Niagara Falls is oversaturated with haunted houses; that’s probably why Horror Manor didn’t do to well.

Frankenstein’s is the cheapest and generally marketed for first timers (kids, people who get scared really easy). Definately the tamest.

are the haunted houses on clifton hill ride or walk through?

They are all walk-through Kathy, except for Ghost Blasters located in the Midway (but it’s much different then the other haunted houses)

thanks for the info Dan. I am a big chicken and I did the Ghost Blasters which was cute. I only like haunted houses if they are ride through being the big baby that I am my legs get really weak and I try to duck down when I am scared and end up in agony by the time I get out. Would you believe I was afraid in the movieland wax musuem and that was before the Elvira and horror stuff, it was like an upright funeral home and my pulse was through the roof. Any lame, tame suggestions for a almost 40 year old chicken?

Wow Kathy lol. Frankenstein haunted house isn’t too bad for a haunted house, probably the most lame. But if you were scared at Movieland then I’m not too sure. I say try it.

I know pretty sad right, lol. I cant understand at my age, I know it isn’t real and yet omg. My sister went to haunted houses all the time growing up but I was chicken. I love halloween and putting on horror costumes but if someone would sneak a mirror in front of me I would probably jump out of my skin. I even wanted to work in a haunted house when I was in college but I never heard any reply. I guess I like to scare not be scared. I would love to do special effect make-up but I live in PA and there is not much call for that kind of stuff. I guess I will see the haunted houses by watching youtube and that kind of thing and just pretend to be an adult. Maybe I will just go to the overpriced indoor water park or spend all my cash in the casino. We know I cant eat in that rainforest place, they might have a fake snake that will scare me lol.

Hey there, I made it to the falls, been back for a week but came back with a nasty cold :( I didn’t go to any of the haunts or wax museum. Now I sort of wish I did the Trusau one. Nothing in there moves or screams and the horror part is optional at the end. Maybe next time. My boyfriend went into the Frankenstein house, didn’t like it because of how dark it was and he was told the other ones were darker and the actors actually touch you. He would have gone into them all if I wasn’t such a baby, he just didn’t want to go himself- no fun that way. I was surprised to see that small tower that was on Clifton hill by the sky wheel is gone. Over all I guess we had a good time I just hope next time I won’t be so much of a baby or we have more people to go with us. thanks for all the info. Do you know if the Criminal wax museum has any moving parts or sound effects? The rock n’ roll one seems to only have the Marilyn Manson that would have scared the crap out of me, I am glad I missed that. Want another laugh? Ripleys Believe it or not!! That big fat guy and the cemetary yipes too much for me to deal with :O cya
