Some Victoria Day Weekend Observations

We had absolutely beautiful weather on Saturday (22.4° C) and Sunday (15.6° C). Clifton Hill was packed both days, and the traffic getting in and out of the tourist areas was quite heavy. Today on the other hand is cooler (11° C) and there are a lot less people.

As I was out today, I took a few pictures:

The daffodils are almost done
The daffodils that were mentioned previously are almost all gone now.

Tulips in Queen Victoria Park
But the tulips are in full bloom …

Black Tulips in Queen Victoria Park
… including these black ones! (I didn’t know such a thing existed)

As I mentioned in the original post, the day I took the pictures it was overcast. I didn’t pay much attention to the tulips other than noticing they were black. Well, once I posted them, they appeared to look a little purple. I looked at them again today (a bright sunny day), and they are indeed a very dark burgundy/wine/purple colour. They are very tall, and now that they are open a little more, very beautiful.
