On Clifton Hill between the Travelodge and one of the haunted houses there used to be a souvenir photo place where you could get your picture take and it would look like you were going over the Falls in a barrel. It’s gone now, and I’m not sure what is replacing it.

Was that like Honeymoon photo or something? I never really stopped there because there was so many other places to get that type photos
Perhaps I am wrong, but when I was a little kid it seemed to me that almost anywhere you went, they had these “over the falls in barrel” picture stands. I very well could be wrong though, because other than this one the only other one I can think of is Skylon. But for whatever reason it seems to me in my memory that they were everywhere.
I think I kind of remember one being in the Maple Leaf Village.
I remember that place & walking by it quite often.
Probably didn’t get enough business… it’s no real surprise since these places are fighting for their lives with some tough competition.
Doesn’t essentially one owner own most of the North side of Clifton Hill (up to the Ripley building)…
…while HoCo owns most of the South-side of the street?
If that’s the case, I’m sure they’ll have no problem finding a replacement.

i remember about 5 years ago or so..we were staying for a few days in the summer..my daughter and her friend went and bought water wings and goggles and walked right down clifton hill dressed up in the stuff to have their pic taken there..people were gathering around to look cuz they looked so dam funny..still have that pic on my fridge too…lol

I remember my sisters and I getting our picture taken near the old Falls Tower Ride… soon to be Fudge store, and it was an over the falls in a barrel picture.
This isn’t about the barrel picture, but along those lines…
I remember have a poster made somewhere inside Maple Leaf Village that said I was the Wimbledon champ. My girlfriend (now my wife) saw my poster and Was quite impressed! She was a little embarrassed when she found out what Wimbledon was and that the poster was fake. She still laughs about it to this day.
