Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

Some of you may recall that there was some filming being done in Niagara Falls for footage that would be used in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. I posted about it a couple of times in October of last year. As far as I know, the movie doesn’t have anything to do with Niagara Falls, but they were shooting footage of a waterfall. I haven’t seen the movie. Has anyone out there seen it? Did you notice any scenes that may have been from Niagara Falls?

I was just going to post this question yesterday….

That footage is actually seen in some of the trailers on television. It is the shot of the “World’s end” where all the water is falling off the edge of the world. I’m not sure if the footage they shot was actually used in the movie - or if it was just used as reference material for developing the CGI. (or possibly both).

I saw it and was going to post about it as well, sorry… yes, the scene was the “World’s End” (from the trailers) where they go looking for Jack. I believe they used the footage of the falls to help with their “World’s End” CGI. The scene shows the edge of a very long waterfall, pretty straight, so it was neither of the actual falls. It looked to me as if they used the footage to give them a visual to start with, and the sound! Definitely felt the power in the sound of the falls. Part of the scene shows a viewpoint from above, what you would see if you looked into the current below the falls, so I believe some of the footage helped in recreating that prospective as well.
